Character counting (with and without spaces)
Sentence counting and readability scoring
Line and paragraph counting
Whitespace character detection and counting
Reading time and speaking time estimation
Social media character limit guidance

All analysis is performed locally within your web browser. No text you enter is transmitted to our servers.

3. Permitted Use

Subject to these Terms, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for personal or commercial text analysis purposes. You may:

Use the tools for any lawful purpose, including professional and commercial work
Share links to CountWord.com with others
Embed links to CountWord.com from your own website or application

4. Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international laws or regulations
Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or disable the Service or its servers
Use automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Service in a manner that imposes an unreasonable load on our infrastructure
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its related systems

The text you enter into our tools remains entirely yours. We do not claim any ownership, licence, or rights over content you analyse using our Service.

6. Privacy and Data

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. As noted in that policy, all text analysis is performed client-side in your browser — we do not store, process, or have access to any text you enter into our tools.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CountWord.com disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to:

Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
That the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components
That the results produced by the Service (word counts, readability scores, time estimates) will be accurate or suitable for any specific purpose

Counting results are estimates based on standard algorithms. Always verify critical counts (e.g. for academic submission, legal documents, or publishing) using the platform or application that will ultimately process your text.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CountWord.com and its owners, operators, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of business — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed one hundred US dollars (USD $100) or the amount you paid to use the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim, whichever is less. (The Service is currently provided free of charge.)
